PEER REVIEW 1: Leo Twemlow

My fist beta review is Leo Twemlow project, ‘Foreign Footy’. After the first round of feedback. Leo’s has iterated and streamlined his content production. As he originally pitched a series of video essays and blog posts that were going to be shared in bite sized pieces of content to both Instagram and Tic Tok to drive conversation to his blogs and video essays. But however decided to drop the video essays and blog portion of the projects and focus on Tik Tok and Instagram.

Primarily, I believe that the move towards smaller, bite-sized content is the way to go with this project as it’s easier to create and share on multiple social media platforms and more importantly, I believe it will help Leo survive in the attention economy. As I have learned over my own past BCM projects and especially my most recent version of my own DA the power of Instagram and Tik Tok helps to get around this issue.

As Leo showed in his beta, his analytics suggest that there is an audience for type of content and that it benefits the sport on a global stage and is relevant and has the ability to create change the American sporting market. Due to America’s population, the sport of Rugby League has the potential to slide into the American sporting scene and compete with a similar sports league in NFL.

Since providing feedback on Leo’s pitch, I’ve had an idea that I think might help improve Leo’s engagement. I think that creating videos explaining the general rules and tactics of the game could be a cool idea and also explain the attributes and skills that are needed to succeed at different positions on the field, As many Americans have probably never heard of the game and what it entails.

Another suggestion I would make is to have a go at uploading the same content on to YouTube shorts  as another platform to spread awareness on as well as it potential to reach a further audience that not necessarily on Tic Tok or Instagram. If you want some more info on YouTube and how to maximize it then Social Media Manager has some great insights! https://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/8-ways-to-maximize-your-youtube-marketing-results/

Personally I cannot think of many key weaknesses of this project as it does have the opportunity for growth and development in a niche market. I’m personally a massive fan of rugby league and I didn’t know that there was plan to make the game in USA which is really interesting to me.

PEER REVIEW 2: Charlotte Pierro

My second beta I reviewed was Charlotte Pierro’s project, ‘PIERROPERSPECTIVE’. After the first round of feedback. Charlotte has iterated and streamlined her content production. As she originally pitched creating a website for her portfolio in order to peruse a career in professional photography. She has also revisited her first year photography account and for this iteration of it was going to be a photography based project on Instagram and YouTube, and will consist of creating photography based content for Instagram reels as well as her normal post’s.

As Charlotte showed in her beta, her analytics suggest that there is an audience for type of landscape and reels based content. I also really like her photographs and video work as well as the general edit she puts on them.

Since providing feedback on Charlotte pitch, I’ve had an idea that I think might help improve her engagement. Therefore, my suggestion I think that creating videos explaining her editing process could be a great cool idea to try out as many photography influencers I follow create similar content and due to the current global mainstream is the short video platform, and people browse the video to get the opportunity they want to know or cooperate. Putting videos on professional video social platforms will get more attention and reach a larger audience. As for her website it could be a good idea to potentially open up a print store to sell your works on, and use marketing on Instagram to drive sales which could be a neat sideincome.

Another suggestion I would make is to have a go at uploading the same content on to YouTube shorts  as another platform to spread awareness on as well as it potential to reach a further audience that not necessarily on Instagram. If you want some more info on YouTube and how to maximize it then Social Media Manager has some great insights! https://www.socialmediaexaminer.com/8-ways-to-maximize-your-youtube-marketing-results/.

After browsing these two betas, I think that any success cannot be separated from failure. But if you persist, you will definitely get good results. I also learned a lot of their good advantages and special points. I hope that in the future, we can all develop the projects we are interested in into our own business.
